Cozy 4BR Lakeside Cottage with Sauna & Terrace

Family friendly, stress free getaway to relax the mind and soul. Positive: The cottages are in a perfect location if you want to get away from the world. The area is relatively quiet and isolated from people. Lots of beds between the two cottages - there were 6 (2 adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 kids) of us, and the place could have easily fit 4-6 more people. Many of the appliances were modern, the outhouse was clean, and drinkable water was provided. The beach featured beautiful sunsets, and the night sky was amazing! Lots of puzzles and games for the family, a lovely summer kitchen with a gas grill and a fire pit. Plenty of wood available, unlike some other places we've stayed. The wood sauna is also a nice feature, though it took us a bit to figure out how to get it hot enough for my husband's liking. The owners are also very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a taste of the Finnish mökki experience with some modern conveniences, this is the perfect place. We had access to a boat so that we could have paddled around the lake, but didn't; however, this could be a good location for kayakers or canoers if you want to bring your own. Negative: There really wasn't anything we disliked because we didn't mind not having a modern shower. We also didn't mind not being near places to hike. The playhouse was more than sufficient for my 7-year-old, and it was reassuring to see how child-friendly the place was. My 7-year-old might have enjoyed a swing, but it wasn't really necessary; the playhouse was fine. :) Also, the nearest grocery store is about 25 minutes away, along with the nearest gas station. Make sure you fill your gas tank before arriving.
